My late father used to sing a song to my mom called "I Don't Know Why (I Just Do)" as sung by Tommy Dorsey (or perhaps it was the Frank Sinatra rendition - I can only speculate because Daddy liked listening to them both).
At any rate, I have a lot of pictures like that... I like/love them, and I don't know why. I just do!
This one, in particular, I took on a rather cold and rainy day. We stayed inside, and my husband built a fire. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed as we read, sipped coffee, put a puzzle together and listened as the kids bickered, played, bickered, played, bickered and played and then asked to be fed. Again.
In this photo, time ticked by S-L-O-W-L-Y, the fire crackled and warmed, and the world map candles alluded to the fact that out of all the places in the world, I was right where I wanted to be. Well, Paris wouldn't have been too bad either. ;)
As the Dos Equis guy may have said, had he been out in all the snow this week...

Stay toasty, my friends!

Thank you, Mascha! I love the cozy times. I could sit here and just be a blob all day. But, alas... the children call for me to go take some COLD, SNOWY photos! Brrrrrr... :)
DeleteAh...so lovely! I love everything about a cozy home stirring up memories! Lovely image!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kim! Makes me want to build a fire right now! ;) BRRRR.
ReplyDeleteSometimes, you don't really need a reason! The candles are quite unique. It's so good to be where you know God wants you to be!
